Third Party Monitoring:
UNDP is a key development partner supporting the Government of Pakistan in achieving its own development objectives as well as the internationally agreed anti-poverty Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). UNDP promotes transformational change by fostering strategic partnerships with national counterparts in the federal, provincial and regional governments, civil society, the private sector and the local and international community. UNDP supports transformational change by providing technical assistance focusing on developing capacity within national and local authorities, providing solutions with strong monitoring and evaluation tools, and delivering programs with maximum efficiency, transparency and accountability.
Crisis Prevention and Recovery:
Building resilience to conflicts and disasters is at the very heart of UNDP's work. UNDP helps countries prevent armed conflict, alleviate the risk and effects of disasters from natural hazards and build back better and stronger when crises happen. When a crisis strikes, UNDP ensures that while the humanitarian response focuses on the immediate lifesaving needs of a population, those responsible also work towards longer-term development objectives.
